Lindsay Kaplan is a communications strategist, an internet innovator, a writer, a redhead and a raconteur. She recently joined the public relations firm King + Company as Vice President, Consumer, Lifestyle + Digital.
Ms. Kaplan began her career in book publishing as a publicist at Oxford University Press. Next, she headed up publicity and communications at Time Out New York. Ms. Kaplan was appointed ELLE’s first social media manager, before joining advertising agency Publicis to work on brands including LG, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Cartier, and General Mills. A digital launch specialist, Ms. Kaplan has brought several startups to market, including Chloe + Isabel, DuJour Media, and Citymaps.
She is a talking head on the TV Guide Network, an associate judge of the Webby Awards and a member of the International Academy of Digital Arts and Science. The New York Observer profiled her relationship as a “New York Media Power Couple,” and BetaBeat named her one of the “Most Poachable Players in Tech.”
Ms. Kaplan has been interviewed by Salon, Popular Mechanics, The Next Web, CBS SmartPlanet, and MediaBistro, and has contributed writing to publications including McSweeney’s, Gawker, The Gloss, and the book Mountain Man Dance Moves (Random House, 2006). She holds a B.A. in English & American Literature, Creative Writing and Philosophy from Brandeis University.
