Hi. I'm a digital strategist, a marketing machine, a writer, a redhead and a raconteur. I love startups, scotch and satire.
I change the way the world uses maps as Marketing Director at the tech startup Citymaps. I'm also an associate judge of the Webby Awards, a member of the Internet Week Advisory Committee, and a sometimes comedienne on TV.
Lindsay Kaplan is a digital expert and marketing strategist based in New York. In April, she joined Citymaps as head of marketing. She is an associate judge of the Webby Awards, and a member of the Internet Week Advisory Committee.
She is the former Digital Strategy Director of DuJour Magazine — launched in partnership with Gilt Groupe. Kaplan began her career in book publishing as a publicist at Oxford University Press. She then headed up Publicity and Communications at Time Out New York, launching, editing, and monetizing the brand's social media platforms. She moved to Hachette Filipacchi Media as ELLE's first social media manager. Kaplan then served as the agency Publicis Modem's first social media strategist, working with new business and global clients. Prior to her current role at DuJour, she was Marketing Director at social commerce start-up Chloe + Isabel.
She is also talking head on the TV Guide Network and a weekly columnist for The Gloss. The New York Observer has profiled her relationship as a "New York Media Power Couple," and BetaBeat named her one of the "2012's Most Poachable Players in Tech."
Kaplan has been interviewed by The Next Web, Popular Mechanics, CBS SmartPlanet, and MediaBistro, and has contributed writing to publications including McSweeney’s, Gawker, Premiere, The Gloss, and Mountain Man Dance Moves (Random House, 2006).
She holds a B.A. in English & American Literature, Creative Writing and Philosophy from Brandeis University.
